You've probably wandered your way here, thanks to my other blogs, A Brick Looks At Life. Or Holiday Goodies. Or Savings Site. I started this one to chronicle this brand-new opportunity in life:
Chickens.
My farmer parents had them -- a whole flock of white Leghorns.
My new-and-coming babes, though, are Black Australorps, as seen above. They're said to be excellent layers, good for meat, intelligent, and just plain friendly to people.
The coop is ready and scrubbed out. The buckets are ready, for feeders and waterers. (More on both of these later.) I pick up the chicks on Saturday...
